Why We Need a Global Awakening of Consciousness ...continued

These are the first signs of the emergence of a new Global Consciousness which does not eliminate the individual self but which fosters the development of the person in and through reciprocity. The profound changes that we are all called upon to make are however within everyone’s reach and can occur peacefully.  We just need to accept to go through them voluntarily, of our own free will, as they cannot be imposed from the outside.  Not only is a change of mind needed but a change of heart.  And this is where our attention, energy and activism should be focused on – awakening and raising the level of Global Environmental Consciousness.

It is clear that the issue of global warming will not go away or resolve itself unless radical changes are made.  There is a price to pay and sacrifices to be made; no wonder therefore that so many businesses resist adopting new approaches for fear of economic losses.  The unprecedented times we live in call for a new ideology, a global ideology that justly serves the rights of all, irrespective of social, political or economic class.  In our continual evolution into higher states, we have now reached a point where the survival of life forms as we know them can only happen if we advance together and support each other.   We need to free ourselves from the illusion of separateness and embrace wholeness and interconnectedness.  We have a duty to help others lead a decent life within the framework of our resources; this means that the greater the resources at our disposal, the more we should help.  Unfortunately, we are far from having reached an agreement as to what the term “duty” extends to, at an international, national or even local level.  We can only hope that as more and more people tap into their inner wisdom and let go of their self-centredness, they will be able to light the way for others.

“The Age of Nations is past.
The task before us now,
if we would not perish,
is to build the earth.”
                            - Teilhard de Chardin
