Announcing Dervish Yoga events in Scotland!

Email: info@dervish-yoga.com

Web: www.dervish-yoga.com

Inspired by the science of movements taught for centuries in secluded Dervish brotherhoods, and also yoga, tai chi, and more recent methods like eurythmy and stretching, Dervish Yoga or Samadeva Gestural Euphony is a new art of movement that stimulates and harmonises all our physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual resources, allowing us to be more at peace, more creative, and more joyful in our daily lives. Consisting of slow, meditative movements that mobilise and strengthen our powers of attention and dynamic, dance-like movements that fill us with a new energy, Dervish Yoga brings deep harmony to every level of our being. It relaxes and invigorates our body, harmonises our psyche, sharpens our mind, and we learn through our body to listen to ourselves, our profound inner being.

Discover Dervish Yoga
with Ennea Tess Griffith

June 14-15, 2008
Salisbury Centre, Edinburgh
Scotland

Workshop leader Ennea Tess Griffith, co-creator of Dervish Yoga, author of Dervish Yoga for Health and Longevity, and founder of the Free University of Samadeva in France, has practiced diverse Eastern and Western movement techniques since her earliest youth. Trained in the healing techniques of the dervishes by Idris Lahore, she has been working to make the ancient knowledge and practical methods of the dervishes available to the West. Ms. Griffith regularly leads workshops in Dervish Yoga, the Essential Psychology, Family Constellations, and Meridian Energetic Techniques throughout Europe.
Practicing Dervish Yoga brings innumerable benefits:
improved health, greater flexibility and coordination, inner calm, a clearer mind, a deeper relationship with our body, and a feeling of harmony within ourselves and with the world around us. It is addressed to anyone of any age – from beginners with no previous experience in movement techniques, to alternative health practitioners and people in the helping professions, to seasoned instructors of yoga, tai chi, qi gong, dance, or other methods who want to acquire new experience and enrich their area of expertise; it is also for people who want to further their inner development, come into a closer relationship with their body, or simply free themselves from stress.
During the workshop, participants will experience two days of immersion in Dervish Yoga, learning the Seven Major Arkanas, the Meditative Movements, Dervish dances, the Dervish Yoga model session, group movements, and a number of other techniques with the goal of their being able to practice Dervish Yoga on their own after the workshop.
There will also be a short introduction to the Essential Psychology and traditional and family constellations, based on the traditional teaching of the Hakim dervishes, and Meridian Energetic Techniques, simple and astonishingly effective healing techniques representing a synthesis of traditional dervish knowledge and recently-developed energetic therapies in the West.

There's also quite a bit of information, images, and a video at www.dervish-yoga.com; for more information about this or other Dervish Yoga events in Scotland, please write to Aaron at info@dervish-yoga.com. He'd be happy to hear from you!
