YOGA WITH JOANNA
Joanna was inspired and encouraged to follow the path of yoga teacher training after many years practicing and enjoying yoga classes. Her love of dynamic flowing sequences led her to pursue Astanga Yoga Teacher Training 200 hrs Yoga Alliance which she completed in 2004 with Brian Cooper and Nawajyoti at Union Yoga in Edinburgh and Shanti Griha in Scoraig, Scotland.
Joanna continues to deepen her yoga practice and draws inspiration from workshops and intensives with a wide range of well known yogis such as Sri Dharma Mittra, David Swenson, Matthew Sweeney, Paul Grilley, Kausthub Desikachar, Shiva Rea and Sarah Powers. She also continues to practice with fellow yoga teacher Granville Cousins.

Joanna holds classes in Vinyasa Flow Yoga, Yoga with Relaxation and Yin Yoga in the Bolton and Manchester area and runs Yoga Holidays in Spain. Yoga one-to-one – always available.
VINYASA YOGA
Vinyasa means ‘ to flow’ – connecting breath and movement, linking postures in a dynamic flowing sequence. Joanna places emphasis on connecting with the breath as a constant point of reference. The practice is relaxed yet alert, focusing on the present moment and moving in and out of Asanas in a graceful and grounded way.
YOGA WITH RELAXATION
A gentle yoga practice beginning with Pranayama and moving through Asanas in a soft flow to keep the link with the breath, warm up the body and relax the mind. A slow down at the end in Savasana for deep relaxation to soothe the spirit and renew the body.
YIN YOGA
Seated Asanas are held for 3 – 5 minutes to enable the connective tissue and the joints to strengthen and re-vitalise. Emphasis is placed on the breath and nurturing inner awareness with mindfulness and integrity in the postures. Deep Savasana is a perfect ending to this slow, steady yoga practice.
